How do I know I need a new roof?
Algae or moss
There should not be moss or algae growing on your roof. If you notice dark spots, streaks, algae, or moss, then you probably have a moisture problem. The thick layer of moss or algae can trap in the moisture and damage your shingles during the colder months. You can try to clean the algae off yourself, but it’s typically better left to the professional roofing companies.
Leaking or water damage inside
Your roof is there to protect your home from the elements, and that’s especially true when it rains. If you notice that you have leaks in your attic or even your interior, then you probably need roof repairs. Some of your flashings might need to be replaced if the problem is localized. If your roof is really old, though, you should probably just get your roof replaced entirely.
High energy bills
Finally, you might notice that your energy bills are higher than normal. While your heating and cooling bills will fluctuate depending on the time of the year, you shouldn’t see a sudden spike. If you do, it most likely means that air is leaking through your roof. You can call roofing companies to address the ventilation issue in your attic so your energy bills can go back to a normal level.
Typically, your roof should be inspected at least once or twice a year. If you notice any of these issues during the inspection, it’s time to start calling roofing companies to get the problems fixed immediately.
If in doubt, call a roofer for an inspection.

How does the roofing team protect my home from debris and construction damage?
At Golden Group, protecting your home is our top priority. We cover your home with black heavy-duty tarps that each hold up to 2 tons of weight. The tarps are strong and protect siding, windows and exterior, protecting your exterior from a single scratch.
We protect your trees and flower beds by placing plywood over them. We use heavy duty nail magnets to ensure all nails are picked up and your children and pets can play safely on the lawn after we are gone.
Where will the debris go?
Great Question! Our Golden Group Asphalt recycling dumpster is usually a 15- to 20-yard dumpster, and that’s where the debris will be deposited. The Dumpster will arrive on the property either the day prior or the day of the roofing installation. The dumpster company will place the dumpster in the safest position to allow access to the property to both the roofers and homeowner. The dumpster will be placed on wood planks to ensure the driveway does not obtain any damage. Once the roof is completed, the dumpster will be removed within 1-2 days.

Indoors, look for cracked paint, discolored plasterboard, and peeling wallpaper as signs of damaged roof areas. My roof is leaking. Do I need a complete roof replacement?

A roof failure, however, is generally irreversible and results from improper installation or choice of materials, or from the installation of a roof system inappropriate to the building.
