A rising star is born

Every year,Boston Business Journal honors 40 rising stars who represent this region’s next generation of business leaders who have accomplished great things in their field — all before their 40th birthday. These promising young professionals include executives, innovators, and entrepreneurs. They lead the charge in the local business world who have proven their skill, their passion, and their drive.

Greta is no stranger to awards. In 2017, she won the Worcester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, joining the ranks of more than 900 business leaders in the Central Mass/MetroWest region that have earned this title since the inception of this annual program in 2000. Now, she has upped the ante by snagging a top spot in Boston’s version and covering a lot more ground in the process. Being recognized on a larger stage gives her added confidence as to her rightful place amongst such a diverse group of brightest and best professionals.

Inspirational young leaders

Every year, the Boston Business Journal honors rising stars in the local business world who have shown distinction not just within their companies but within their communities and industries as well.

Greta and Chiara Boston Business Journal

“It was wonderful to be recognized among such strong people in our community,” says Greta, CEO and founder of Golden Group Roofing. “It was impactful to be able to not only make a name for myself, but for the construction industry as well.” This holds added weight for this 34 year-old entrepreneur, who understands all too well how rare it is for construction companies to be honored in this light, let alone one with a female immigrant at the helm of a traditionally male-dominated trade.

Golden Group Roofing has a rich history of being recognized for excellence, winning more roofing awards than any other local roofing company. From Remodeler Magazine Big 50 and Pro Remodeler 40 under 40, to GAF Triple Excellence Award and Beacon Female Roofing Professional of the year finalist 2021, this track record for exceptional service is a testament to the evolution of a successful local business.

Immigrant story: Albanian native making strides in construction

Boston Business Journal honored each award winner with a short bio and interview to illustrate their inclusion on such a prestigious annual list. A native of Albania, Greta founded Golden Group Roofing in 2012 after graduating with a business degree from Worcester State University. Today, it’s a multimillion-dollar brand that has been expanded to include siding and solar. Her mission is to innovate the construction process, elevate the customer experience, and change the face of construction by advocating for women in the industry.

Greta is motivated by a desire to do more than just excel at business. She has a deep love for community involvement as well. Greta, a rare female business leader in the male-dominated construction trade, is heavily involved in the industry. She takes great pride in immersing herself in the community. Not only is she the first woman to serve on the North East Roofing Contractors Association’s executive board and due to serve as its president in 2027, she serves on the foundation board and the scholarship committee of Worcester State University, her alma mater.
