Giving back in Worcester
Our team is dedicated to giving back in the community. We we dont’ just say everyone deserves a roof over their head, we make it happen,
The spirit of giving is alive and well for Golden Group Roofing, and not just because the holidays are upon us. Every year, this Hudson-based roofing and solar company donates a roof to someone in need through Habitat For Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester — just one of many philanthropic gestures that set this local business apart from the rest.
Golden Group Roofing Donates Another Roof For Habitat For Humanity Worcester
Habitat is a cause near and dear to Greta Bajrami, owner and co-founder of Golden Group Roofing. In 2018, she was honored, along with her team, for contributions to the Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester “Women Build” Event, aimed at empowering single women by helping them obtain affordable housing. Greta is well aware of the struggle facing many single mothers who are trying to escape poor or unsafe living conditions, and donating a roof is a tangible way in which she can help out.
She was also an honoree for the 2023 Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester Golden Hammer Award after many years of supporting Habitat’s goal of providing homes for local families and veterans in need in the local community.
Fueled by the spirit of giving, Golden Group hasn’t stopped in their mission to help their fellow community members. Over the past several years, Golden Group Roofing has raised money and donated free roofs in communities such as Northborough, Holliston, and Southbridge.
This year was no different, with a full GAF roof replacement in Worcester by the GAF Master Elite contractors that make up this Greater Boston roofing company. On top of the roof donation, Golden Group gave Habitat For Humanity a monetary donation as well as provided volunteers who took care of the painting, flooring, and sheetrocking of the Worcester property.
A culture of giving
For Greta, it’s no surprise that her team works so hard to give of themselves to benefit the community. In fact, it’s part of the culture of Golden Group Roofing and a big point of pride for her and her husband, co-founder Freddy Campoverde. She’s come a long way in creating and fostering a unique company dynamic in a field typically dominated by males.
From her humble beginnings as an Albanian immigrant to founding a rapidly growing company to breaking through barriers in the construction industry every single year, there’s little doubt about the passion this enthusiastic female leader has for her field. Indeed, part of success equals giving back, which is why Golden Group Roofing has been donating free roofs every year for the past decade. This is something rare in the local industry and not something you see every day with most construction companies.
Building roots in the community
To Greta, good business is founded on community involvement. “When you do business with Golden Group Roofing, you’re also supporting a company that gives back to the community,” she said. It is Golden Group’s mission to empower people through the basic rights of shelter, and to make homeownership affordable for everyone. “We don’t just do business,” she continued. “We do business the right way.”
Golden Group’s culture of giving doesn’t stop at roofs. They also donate time and money to Fresh Start Furniture Bank in Hudson, a collaborative effort between Greta and her good friend CEO/founder Lysa Miller of Ladybugz Interactive Agency. Fresh Start Furniture Bank is a local organization that collects gently used donated furniture and home goods from the public, which they then distribute to people in need.
Golden Group has been an active contributor to several other charitable groups in the area, including local veterans’ shelters, Goodwill, and Abby’s House, Worcester’s largest provider of affordable housing for women and children. In fact, Golden Group donates $40,000 to $50,000 each year to worthy charities. This Greater Boston roofing company also participates in the Worcester State University Adopt a Scholar program with a $1,000 donation each semester for those who don’t qualify for financial aid.
As you can see, empowerment is a central theme for the charitable efforts Golden Group Roofing takes part in throughout the year.
