◆ Fresh Air on Demand – The solar-powered Fresh Air model has a small solar panel on the exterior that captures available daylight to open and close the skylight while charging a small, concealed battery, even on cloudy days. An integrated rain sensor closes the skylight automatically at the first sign of inclement weather.
◆ Best Time to Add: During a Roof Replacement –Installing new skylights when installing a new roof saves you money because when the roof deck is wide open, the process is smoother and easier. If your skylight is over 10 years old and you’re replacing your roof, this is the time.

How much does a skylight cost?

Should I replace my skylight when I replace my roof?
If your skylight is over 10 years old, yes. Skylights have a life expectancy of 10 to 15 years. Replacing it during a roof replacement saves money because the roof deck is already open. If your skylight is under 7 years old and in good shape, a new flashing kit may be all you need.
Will my skylight leak?
